The Collective joins Boulevard Realty Friday evening, August 2, at an open house to showcase works by local artists.
The reception, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Boulevard’s offices at 927 Studewood, Suite 110, will serve as a warm-up for The Collective’s September 14 “FestEve! A Night for the Arts,” at the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies at Rice University.
Among the artists showing their works at Boulevard on Friday will be Ann Johnson, Daniel Tesfai, Mathieu Jean Baptist, Floyd Newsum, Melissa Aytenfisu, Rhonda Radford and Carolyn Crump.
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner will serve as the honorary chair of The Collective’s “FestEve! event in September. Serving as Co-Chairs are Ashley Turner, Houston’s First Daughter and Bill Baldwin, Boulevard owner and city planning advocate.
Three outstanding members of the arts community will be honored at FestEve! Winell Herron, H-E-B Group Vice President of Public Affairs, Diversity and Environmental Affairs, and Lester Marks, Houston’s Arts Czar, have been named Patrons of the Year, and Ann “Sole Sister” Johnson has been designated as Artist-in-Action for the Year. The evening will feature local works of art, performing artists and a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.
