THE COLLECTIVE TAKES “ANOTHER LOOK” AT ARTISTS’ WORKS

Exhibition opens August 8 at the Midtown Art Center Tea Room  HOUSTON (July 31, 2008)–“Another Look” opens Friday, August 8, at the Community Artists’ Collective at the Midtown Art Center Tea Room, 1413 Holman, with a reception from 6 to 8 p. m.

The exhibition, curated by Dr. Sarah Trotty, features works by artists who have previously exhibited at The Collective.  The show will continue through September 6.  Viewing is free.

Among the participating artists are Regina Agu, Joan Bristow, Dennis Black, Michelle Barnes, Ava Cosey, Nathaniel Donnett, Burford Evans, Hassan Hilliard, Lee Jackson, Ann Johnson, John H. Jones (Diallo) Bert Long, Lionel Lofton, Danny Russo, Linda Simien-Kelly, Sarah Trotty, Michael Kahlil Taylor and Bobbie Wright.

The Community Artists’ Collective (The Collective)  is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making the arts and arts education more accessible to all children and adults and to foster an appreciation for art and the creative process.  The Collective is funded in part by grants from the city of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance,   corporations, individuals and through collaborations with community organizations.  The Collective is a member of the Fresh Arts Coalition, a collaboration of the most original and thought-provoking arts groups in Houston.
