Curatorial & Exhibitions ManagerThe Curatorial & Exhibitions Manager provides creative and operational leadership for the planning, curation, and execution of exhibitions at the Community Artists’ Collective.
This role combines curatorial vision, project management, artist relations, and audience engagement strategies to ensure exhibitions are thoughtfully designed, professionally installed, and deeply connected to the community.
As both a creative partner and logistical lead, the Curatorial & Exhibitions Manager strengthens the organization’s reputation for impactful programming, fosters meaningful relationships with artists, and develops systems that sustain long-term growth and audience engagement.
JOB REQUIREMENTSOverseeing all operational requirements related to the planning, preparation, and staging of art exhibitions.
Leads the installation and deinstallation of artworks, ensuring proper handling, presentation, and adherence to exhibition plans.
Manages all documentation and administrative materials associated with the exhibition process.
Ensures the overall cleanliness, organization, and professional presentation of the exhibition space at all times.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTSOversee and maintain public gallery hours (Thursday–Saturday, 12:00–5:00 PM), ensuring a welcoming, professional, and mission-aligned visitor experience.
Serve as the primary point of contact for artists, managing communications in person, by phone, and via email throughout the exhibition lifecycle.
Develop, administer, and manage annual or biannual open calls for artists, including drafting calls, coordinating submission timelines, and overseeing the review process.
Receive, review, and assess artist submissions and exhibition proposals in alignment with curatorial vision and organizational goals.
Prepare and present exhibition recommendations to the Executive Director & Exhibition Advisory committee for consideration and approval.
Communicate exhibition decisions to artists in writing, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and timely follow-up.
COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTSRequest and review high-quality photographic documentation of proposed artworks for curatorial assessment, promotion, and planning purposes.
Provide artists with The Community Artists’ Collective’s contractual agreements and ensure clarity around exhibition expectations and deliverables.
Maintain organized records of all artist communications and share relevant correspondence with the internal team via Google Drive for transparency and institutional recordkeeping.
Review the annual exhibition calendar and present available exhibition dates to the Executive Director & Assistant Director for final approval.
Schedule approved exhibitions on the organizational calendar and coordinate timelines with artists, curators, and internal teams.
EXHIBITION DOCUMENTATION & RECORDS MANAGEMENTEstablish, maintain, and oversee comprehensive records of exhibitions in both physical and digital formats.
Maintain complete electronic exhibition archives
Ensure exhibition documentation is organized, accessible, and suitable for institutional memory, grant reporting, and future reference.
GALLERY STANDARDS & DAILY OPERATIONSSet and uphold standards for the cleanliness, organization, and professional presentation of the gallery and surrounding exterior during public hours and events.
Oversee end-of-day procedures, ensuring all waste is removed and food-related materials are properly disposed of.
Maintain an efficient, respectful, and organized work environment that reflects the values and professionalism of The Community Artists’ Collective.
The Community Artists’ Collective presents six to seven exhibitions annually, including the annual Ashè Holiday Market each December. The Curatorial & Exhibitions Manager is responsible for guiding the curatorial vision, planning timelines, and coordinating programming to ensure a balanced, engaging, and mission-aligned exhibition season.

Art Instructors & Workshop FacilitatorsCAC invites teaching artists and culture-bearers to lead community-centered, hands-on visual arts programs in 2026. We’re seeking after-school and weekend activations that strengthen creative skills, career pathways, and intergenerational exchange. All programs must integrate a visual art component (e.g., collage, textiles, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, or mixed media).
WHO SHOULD APPLY
• Practicing artists, designers, makers, and culture-bearers with a track record of teaching or facilitation.
• Organizations/collectives proposing co-led activations.
• Emerging instructors preparing students for portfolio reviews (HSPVA/college) and career-building in the arts.
PROGRAM WINDOW & FORMAT
Rolling January–December 2026
Formats:
60–120 minute single-session workshops
4–8 week series
pop-up intensives.
Audiences:
K–12, young adults, families, and multigenerational cohorts (specify your target band).
Compensation:
All selected activations are paid.
Rates are based on scope, class size, staffing needs, and materials.
